About Drainage King
Christchurch drainage specialists you can rely on
Drainage King is a local team of qualified drainlayers who specialise in blocked drains, CCTV drain inspections, drain repairs, and residential drainlaying work across Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri.
The work is often urgent and messy. The promise is simple: turn up when needed, find the real cause of the problem, fix it properly, and leave the property tidy. Clear communication, honest advice and reliable timeframes mean you’re never left guessing.
Most people don’t call a drainage company when things are going well. You call because the toilet’s backing up, the gully’s overflowing in the rain, or the section smells like sewer. That’s when Drainage King shows up fast.
How we work
Find it. Fix it. Prove it.
We use high-pressure hydro jetting and CCTV drain camera inspections to locate the actual fault in your sewer or stormwater line and clear it at the source, not just push it further down the line.
Quality repair, not a quick plunge.
If the pipe is cracked, collapsed, full of roots, or has sunk, we can repair or replace that section and get everything running properly again. Paths, lawns and garden areas are reinstated to a high standard.
24/7 blocked drain response.
Blocked drains don’t wait for business hours, so neither do we. Drainage King is available 24/7 for urgent callouts across Christchurch and Canterbury.
Straight communication.
You’ll know what’s happening, what it costs, and what happens next. No vanishing, no surprises.

THE KING OF THE THRONE
Meet the King: Rusty Grieve
Drainage King is led by Rusty Grieve, known to most customers simply as Rusty.
Rusty is a qualified and experienced drainlayer with years of hands-on work in Christchurch ground conditions, broken pipes, blocked sewers, and stormwater lines. He’s also a former science teacher, which shows in the way he explains the problem clearly and talks you through the fix without the usual trade jargon.
He’s also a family man, and that comes through in how he works. You’re not just a “job”. You’re someone’s home, someone’s rental, someone’s mum trying to deal with a blocked toilet at 9pm. That matters.
